Sunday School is designed to increase each child’s awareness of Bible stories and God’s wonderful world. We use curriculum that incorporates lessons, activities, crafts, games, as well as videos to provide a full faith experience for the children.

Nursery (newborn through age 5) is provided for all services from 8:00am to 11:45am. Our nursery staff is qualified, trained in our Safe Sanctuary policy, and have all passed mandatory background checks. Nursery age child care is provided for church wide activities as needed.

Preschool (ages 3-5) begin meeting for Sunday School from 9:15am – 10:15am (Room 205)

Elementary kids (Kindergarten – 5th Grade) meet upstairs for Sunday School. We gather as a large group from 9:00am – 9:30am for worship, games and fellowship. Classes are then divided into smaller groups by grade level from 9:30am – 10:15am:

• Candy Store –> Kindergarten – 1st Grade
• Pet Shop –> 2nd Grade – 3rd Grade
• The LOFT –> 4th Grade – 5th Grade

Children begin worship at 10:30 in either the Traditional or The Connection services. After a coodinated “Children’s Moment” at 10:45am (in both services), the children are escorted upstairs by an approved Volunteer. Children’s Church includes music, a story from the bible, an offering, prayer time, and activities to help them go deeper with the lesson.

NOTE: We DO NOT have Children’s Church on the first Sunday of every month. This allows families time to worship together and celebrate communion as a famiily.

Each fall and spring, elementary children are invited to join us for Kids Choir on Wednesday nights from 6:00pm – 7:00pm.

FUMC has a group of dedicated staff and volunteers who teach and safely care for the needs of our infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. In accordance with Safe Sanctuary policies, all workers are screened and attend yearly training. Childcare is provided on Sunday mornings and during scheduled special events.
