Fine Arts Concert

Thursday, October 23 at 7:30pm
Knoxville Chamber Chorale in the FUMC Sanctuary

The concert will feature works by Byrd, Tomkins, Weelkes, and Max Reger, as well as contemporary composers Eric Whitacre, Daniel Elder and Jake Runestad.

From conductor, John R. Orr, “This concert is a musical journey from evening to morning and explores the impact of night on the human experience. Evening can bring a settling warmth and comfort of togetherness, but also a tinge of fear, a prayer for protection. Night can bring an awareness of natural beauty that spans the heavens, and casts a different light on the realm of nature and emotion. Darkest night can bring forth darkest fears and grief, emotions that need spending to fully appreciate the peace, promise, and joy of a new day.”

The Knoxville Choral Society is a 28-32 member chamber choir auditioned from the membership of the Knoxville Choral Society.
